Detox Bath Basics

5 Benefits To Taking A Bath

1) It relaxes your body

If you’re feeling sore or tense, a nice warm bath is one of the most relaxing things you can do for yourself. About 20 minutes in the warm water with some epsom salts may be all you need to feel refreshed.

2) It calms your mind

For me there isn’t much that’s more soothing that a deep tub of warm water, dim lights, and soft music or a good book. When I’m feeling stressed or anxious, a bath helps me to feel more centered and my mind decluttered.

3) It gives you some alone time

Whether you’re a busy mom, an overworked student, or just super busy – a little bit of time alone can do wonders for your outlook. It doesn’t make a difference if you’re introverted or extroverted, a bit of alone time is good for recovering from the hectic demands of your life. And where is one place you know you can be left alone?! In the bathroom. Moms – lock the door and put your husband or older kids in charge – they will be fine, I promise. Or wait until everyone is sound asleep at night. It really, REALLY makes a difference to carve out that time for yourself.

4) It’s good for your body

Taking a bath has so many physical health benefits! It helps to detoxify the body, hydrates you, and even burns calories! Of course a bath can’t replace a good workout, but it has similar effects on the body due to the raise in body temp and can burn around 100 calories.

5) It helps you sleep better

In addition to relaxing the body and mind mentioned above, a relaxing bath at night can signal your body to produce melatonin – all leading to a sounder sleep.
